Second batch of beneficiaries under Weija-Gbawe MP's eye surgery initiative successfully undergo operations
The second batch of beneficiaries under Weija Gbawe MP's surgery initiative being implemented through a partnership between the Columbia Union Conference (USA), GAHS, and the medical team at SDA Valley View Hospital have successfully undergone surgery and is currently recovering.
The programme forms part of efforts by Jerry Ahmed Shiab to improve access to quality eye care services and restore sight to individuals suffering from various vision-related conditions within the constituency.
Organisers of the initiative said the successful surgeries represent another significant milestone in the healthcare intervention, which aims to transform lives by providing critical medical support to residents who may otherwise be unable to afford such procedures.
According to the organisers, the project is not only restoring vision but also creating renewed opportunities for beneficiaries to improve their quality of life, regain independence, and contribute more actively to their families and communities.
In a remark, the Mr Shiab noted that the partnership continues to demonstrate the importance of collaboration in expanding access to specialised healthcare services and addressing preventable vision impairment.
He further expressed optimism that the initiative would continue to bring hope and brighter futures to many more individuals and families as additional beneficiaries receive treatment in subsequent phases of the programme.
