Ablakwa rebukes Napo, calls for ‘deliverance from falsehoods’ amid CSE curriculum allegations
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called for divine intervention for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo, the running mate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), whom he accuses of spreading "falsehoods" about his record as Education Minister.
Mr. Ablakwa made the remarks during the launch of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in the Asawase Constituency on Saturday, 27 October 2024.
The North Tongu MP condemned Napo’s recent claims that he, as a former Deputy Education Minister, had developed and promoted a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum for Ghanaian schoolchildren.
The NPP Vice Presidential candidate, had also alleged that the North Tongu MP had enlisted church leaders and Imams to influence teachers to implement the programme, a claim Mr. Ablakwa describes as “palpably false.”
According to Mr. Ablakwa, NAPO needs prayers for his continued spread of lies while adding that he would not tolerate a campaign marred by “lies, defamation, and character assassination” in 2024.
He vowed to take further action, stating that NAPO would soon hear from him over the matter.
The North Tongu MP also highlighted the NDC’s "Operation Recover All Loot" (ORAL) initiative, a programme focused on recovering alleged misappropriated state funds, with a commitment to bringing offenders to justice.
The initiative, he noted, is an essential pillar of the party’s mission to ensure accountability in government.
Asawase MP Hon. Muntaka Mubarak also addressed NDC supporters, urging them to remain vigilant and safeguard their votes in the upcoming December 7 general elections to ensure a victory for John Mahama.
