Akwatia NDC supporters rally behind Ali Rasmus ahead of parliamentary primary today

Supporters and delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region have declared their strong backing for Ali Rasmus, popularly known as Asanka Poyoyoo, ahead of the party’s parliamentary primaries scheduled for Monday, August 4, in Akwatia.
Expressing confidence in his chances, the NDC faithful highlight Mr Rasmus’ outstanding leadership qualities and commend his consistent contributions to social and human development in the constituency, often made from his own resources.
Mr. Rasmus is contesting the NDC parliamentary slot against two other aspirants: Lawyer Bernard Bediako and Mr Henry Kwadwo Boakye, the immediate past NDC Member of Parliament for Akwatia.
The primaries are being held in preparation for an upcoming by-election in the constituency, necessitated by the passing of the incumbent NPP MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi.
Party supporters believe that with the right candidate, the NDC stands a strong chance of reclaiming the Akwatia seat.
