Avenor must unite for development — First Deputy Speaker urges at Tutudo festival
The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Akatsi South Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr Bernard Ahiafor, has urged the chiefs and people of Avenor to prioritise unity as a fundamental requirement for the area’s accelerated development.
Speaking at the 2025 Avenor Tutudo Festival in Akatsi, Mr. Ahiafor emphasised that no community can achieve meaningful progress without peace and cohesion.
He cautioned that conflicts, divisions, and prolonged misunderstandings only hinder development efforts.
According to him, sustainable development naturally thrives in an atmosphere of harmony.
He noted that while he avoids involvement in chieftaincy and land disputes due to the impartial nature of his parliamentary office, he remains committed to promoting reconciliation and fostering unity among stakeholders.
Mr. Ahiafor also highlighted ongoing development projects across the constituency, citing improvements in electrification, road infrastructure, health facilities, and educational development.
He stressed that every project he has announced is “physical and verifiable” within the communities.
