Back your claims of constructing 12, 000 kilometres of roads with evidence – Asiedu Nketia tells Akufo-Addo
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia has challenged President Akufo-Addo to substantiate his claim of constructing 12,000 kilometres of roads across Ghana.
While on his retail campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, Mr Asiedu Nketia questioned the distribution of these roads, specifically asking about the region's share of the alleged road projects.
He pointed out that nearly all road networks he observed were in poor condition, casting doubt on the government’s road construction claims.
He mentioned that numerous chiefs he met—including those from Kobeng, Sereso Timpon, Amakye Bare, and Achiase—expressed serious concerns about the deteriorating state of their roads, appealing for urgent repairs and construction.
Mr Asiedu Nketia compared the President’s promises about road infrastructure to the journey between Ghana and the United Kingdom, remarking that the promised improvements were nowhere to be seen.
He called Akufo-Addo to provide evidence of the road projects
He said the President's claims were misleading and encouraged residents to vote for the NDC to ensure real development in their road networks.
Nana Kwakwa Bene Ababio, the Chief of Atwima Wioso in Atwima Nwabiagya South, echoed these same concerns during a community engagement in Kobeng
