Bawumia commends Oquaye committee's insightful report

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has lauded the Oquaye Committee for what he described as a “comprehensive and insightful” report on the future direction of the party.
=Speaking on Wednesday, 23rd April, at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Dr Bawumia commended the committee for its diligence and strategic recommendations, which he believes will serve as a roadmap for party unity and electoral success.
“The work of the Oquaye Committee reflects not only deep intellectual rigour but also a firm understanding of our party’s values and the aspirations of the Ghanaian people,” Dr Bawumia stated.
He noted that the committee’s report captures key lessons from past electoral cycles, offers innovative ideas for party organisation, and prioritises inclusiveness and grassroots engagement.
According to him, the NPP stands at a critical crossroads, and the committee’s findings could not have come at a better time.
The Oquaye Committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, was tasked with reviewing internal party structures and making strategic recommendations for the NPP’s long-term strength.
Dr Bawumia affirmed that several of the committee’s proposals would be factored into the upcoming ‘Thank You Tour’, which aims to consolidate party support nationwide and engage directly with the electorate.
