The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has praised Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s initiative to train one million youth in digital skills, describing it as a crucial step towards the digitalisation of Ghana. 

Speaking in an interview on the Possibility Series on Wednesday, 13th November, Nkansah noted that this goal is key to building a solid foundation for the country’s economy.

Mr Nkansah explained that equipping young people with digital skills would not only enhance their employability but also empower them to contribute to the growth of Ghana’s digital economy. 

He highlighted that the future of the country depends on embracing technology and innovation, and Bawumia’s vision is a significant move in that direction. 

According to Nkansah, digitalisation is the backbone of modern economies, and Bawumia’s approach promises to create sustainable opportunities for the youth.

The NEIP CEO further urged Ghanaians to support Bawumia’s vision, stating that the focus on training the youth in digital skills aligns with the country’s broader goals of economic transformation. 

He encouraged all citizens to recognise the importance of digitalisation and to rally behind Dr Bawumia in the upcoming election. 

Mr Nkansah believes that with the right leadership, the youth can be empowered to lead the charge in driving economic progress through technology.

Mr Nkansah reiterated that Ghana’s future success lies in its ability to embrace the digital revolution. 

He urged voters to back Bawumia’s candidacy, believing that his plan for the youth would play a pivotal role in shaping a brighter, more innovative future for the country.

"If you want to industrialize and you need technical knowledge and vocational skills to provide the services under an industrial economy, then you must focus on your STEM and TVET education. So that they will provide the technical skills that are needed."

"It is the same way with digitalisation because if you want to formalise the economy, you want to digitalise, then you must start by building the manpower in the digital space which is why Dr Bawumia has set a target to train one million Ghanaians in digital skills and that is the first step towards digitalisation," he said
