Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun has issued a public apology after admitting that his widely publicised prophecy regarding the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries did not come to pass.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the cleric acknowledged that he had previously declared through a book, videos and media interviews that Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the party’s primaries and emerge as the NPP flagbearer.

However, the prediction failed to materialise.

“That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong, I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness,” he stated.

The prophet admitted that many people relied on his prophetic declaration and may have been affected emotionally, spiritually and politically. He said he takes full responsibility for the outcome and will not shift blame.

“Because I spoke publicly with prophetic authority, many people trusted my word… I acknowledge this with humility. I take full responsibility for this prophetic word,” he wrote.

Prophet Nelson-Eshun apologised to individuals who may have made decisions based on his prophecy and expressed regret to those who felt hurt or disappointed.

Describing the moment as one of reflection, he said the experience has prompted him to reassess how he communicates prophetic revelations going forward, stressing his commitment to integrity, accountability and discernment.

“This moment has caused me to pause, reflect, and realign myself in accountability and discernment regarding how prophetic revelations are communicated. I remain committed to integrity, growth, and truth,” he added.

He further extended an apology to believers in Ghana and abroad, particularly anyone whose faith may have been shaken by the failed prediction.

The statement concluded with gratitude to those who have corrected him and continue to support him in prayer.

The apology has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some commending the prophet for taking responsibility, while others continue to debate the role of prophetic declarations in political matters.

Meanwhile, from the results pouring in, it is most likely former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will best all four of his contenders, including Kennedy Agyapong, to regain the flagbearership for the NPP.
