Choose No. 1 – Akufo-Addo rallies UE/R to back Bawumia, NPP in Dec. 7 polls
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the people of the Upper East Region to throw their full support behind the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December elections.
He described Dr. Bawumia as the embodiment of the hopes and aspirations of Ghanaians as the country approaches the polls.
During a one-day tour of the region on Tuesday, 1 October 2024, President Akufo-Addo addressed Chiefs and elders, calling on voters to choose the NPP by selecting the number one spot on the ballot.
“I came here to give you an account of my stewardship, thank you for your support, and to urge you to seriously consider the importance of choosing someone who will continue the policies we have initiated—policies that have brought relief, progress, and development to our country,” the President stated.
Emphasising the straightforwardness of the decision facing voters, he added, “…This election is a simple one. When you go to the polls, just look for number one—you will see the elephant on number one. You don’t need to go any further.”
