Nana Ohene-Ntow, Senior Advisor and Director of Election Planning and Coordination for the Afrafranto Alliance and the leader of the Caravan Team in the Bono Region, has passionately stated that corruption is the driving force behind Ghana's escalating debt and continued borrowing.

Speaking at the Alan Caravan Campaign Tour in Dormaa in the Bono Region on Saturday, October 5, 2024, he lamented that corruption has drained billions of cedis intended for national development, leaving the country in a state of financial crisis.

"Corruption is the main reason Ghana is so deeply indebted and is still borrowing," Nana Ohene-Ntow boldly declared, stressing that the nation’s resources are being siphoned off by corrupt practices, which have gone unchecked for far too long.

He pointed out that the NPP and NDC, despite years of governance, have both failed to address this issue, leaving Ghana in an economic quagmire.

He emphasized that it is time for a new leader who is untainted by corruption and fully committed to the fight against it.

"It’s time we bring Alan Kyerematen to lead the nation and tackle this canker once and for all.

Mr Alan Kyerematen has never been corrupt and will never be corrupt.

He will ensure that the billions lost to corruption are channelled toward the development we so desperately need," he urged.

Nana Ohene-Ntow reiterated that Alan Kyerematen’s leadership will focus on rooting out corruption from the top, ensuring that every public official are held accountable.

"We need a leader like Alan, who embodies integrity and will enforce it across all ranks of government," he told the enthusiastic crowd, urging them to support Alan for change in the December 7 election.

The wind of change could be felt throughout Bono, as the Caravan Tour energized the region with massive cheers from the people, who are eager for a fresh start.

The excitement was palpable as crowds gathered to greet the team, signalling their readiness for a new era under Alan Kyerematen’s leadership.

As part of the tour, the team paid a courtesy call to the Paramount Queen of Berekum, Nana Akosua Ameahene II, who used the opportunity to offer sage advice on the upcoming elections.

The Queen urged all political parties to conduct their campaigns with dignity and avoid insults or incitements to violence.

"Campaign platforms should be used to sell policies and ideas to convince people to vote, not to incite unrest," she warned.

Nana Akosua Ameahene II emphasized that peace should be the cornerstone of the elections, as the ultimate choice of a leader lies in God’s hands.

"Ghana has been a peaceful country, and we must maintain that peace before, during, and after the elections.

It is God who chooses a leader," she declared, calling on political parties to uphold unity and harmony throughout the electoral process.

In a heartfelt message, the Queen also cautioned the youth against being influenced by politicians offering money or other incentives to create trouble.

Our youths must avoid being used to cause violence.

The peace we enjoy in this country cannot be toyed with," she emphasized, urging everyone to prioritize the nation's stability.

The Queen concluded her remarks with a personal message for Alan Kyerematen, expressing her support for his candidacy.

"Tell Alan I have heard him, and I will pray for him," she assured, while Nana Ohene-Ntow humbly appealed to her to keep Alan in her prayers.

Rev. Stephen Ayensu, the founder of the Ghana Green Party and a leading member of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, also reinforced the need for change, urging the people of Dormaa and the Bono Region to vote massively for Alan Kyerematen to rescue the country from bad governance, corruption, and economic mismanagement.

Also campaigning with the team in the region is award-winning gospel musician Grace Ashley, a native of Bono and the composer of the official song for the Movement for Change.

Her presence added excitement to the tour, with locals cheering as her songs energized the Caravan’s campaign in the region.
