Dec 7 polls: NDC congratulates Trump, receiving the news 'as a good omen' for the party's 'reset' agenda
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its "heartfelt congratulations to president-elect of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump on his resounding victory in yesterday's election".
The party led by former President John Dramani Mahama, also accepted Trump's reelection as a "good" sign of a similar fortune in Ghana come election day December 7, 2024.
This was contained in a statement signed by the NDC's General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Wednesday, November 6.
"This decisive victory marks the return of the former president of the United States to the White House after just four years of exiting office," the NDC noted.
"The development is a good omen for us in the NDC, and a sign of great things to come given the stark parallels it presents as Ghanaians head to the polls to elect a new President on December 7th," the statement declared.
"Just as Americans have chosen to reset their future with experienced leadership, we believe that Ghanaians will reject the current government’s eight years of insensitivity, corruption, and economic mismanagement. The NDC stands ready to bring stability, integrity, and renewed hope to Ghana," the NDC's statement closed.
On Facebook, Mahama wrote: "Congratulations, former President Donald J. Trump, on your re-election as President of the United States of America. I trust your re-election will bring greater prosperity to the American people and strengthen peace, security, and economic growth worldwide."Trending News
