Eugene Arhin files nomination to contest Awutu Senya West seat
Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, has officially filed his nomination to contest in the upcoming parliamentary election for the Awutu Senya West constituency.
Mr Arhin, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), submitted his documents to the party's constituency office on Monday, 9 September 2024.
Speaking to supporters and party executives after filing his nomination, Mr Arhin pledged his commitment to the development of Awutu Senya West.
He emphasised plans to prioritise infrastructure, education, and other development projects aimed at improving the standard of living in the constituency.
Mr Arhin further highlighted his vision was to uplift the standard of living of the people through effective leadership and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the region.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency’s entry into the race has generated considerable excitement among NPP members, with many viewing him as the ideal candidate to reclaim the seat.
Awutu Senya West has traditionally been a swing seat, with intense competition between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in past elections.
Supporters believe Mr Arhin’s close ties to the central government and his extensive experience in public service will offer the NPP a significant advantage in the upcoming election.
However, he is expected to face strong competition from within his party, as well as from the opposition NDC's candidate, Gizella Tetteh.
With his nomination successfully filed, Eugene Arhin is set to launch an aggressive campaign to secure the party's endorsement and ultimately win the parliamentary seat.
