Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has launched a blistering attack on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing party executives of covering up critical issues and leading the party down a destructive path.

Speaking in a strongly worded statement in reaction to the General Secretary's attempt to expel him from the party, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng warned that repeating the same electoral strategies without proper reflection and reform would be harmful to the party’s future.

He argued that the party’s leadership has failed to subject its recent electoral performance to transparent scrutiny.

“Instead of the executives writing a report for everyone to read and contribute, they are covering up things and allowing us to go into another election with the same format.

It is very bad,” he said.

The former Minister called on the current party executives to step aside, insisting that their resignation would allow the NPP to rebuild and regain its strength.

“The executives should leave, and the party will stand,” he stressed.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng also dismissed suggestions that he could be expelled from the party over his criticisms, stating emphatically that the NPP does not belong to its current leadership.

“Nobody can sack me from the NPP because the party does not belong to them,” he declared, adding that attempts to silence dissenting voices would only weaken the party further.

In an unusually blunt remark, the former minister expressed deep frustration with the conduct of party leaders, declaring, “To hell with them,” as he condemned what he described as efforts to suppress accountability and internal democracy.

His comments come amid heightened tensions within the NPP following its recent electoral setbacks, with growing calls from sections of the party for introspection, reforms and leadership renewal.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng’s intervention adds to the intensifying internal debate over the party’s direction, leadership credibility and readiness for future elections.
