GA/R: Ningo-Prampram MP secures assurance from Ghana Water for improved water supply
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and Minister for Communications, Digitalisation and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has secured a commitment from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to address the worsening water crisis in his constituency.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, 16th March, he expressed deep concern over the “extremely critical” situation with water delivery in the Ningo and Prampram areas, which he said had deteriorated significantly in recent weeks.
According to Mr George, he engaged with the new Managing Director of GWCL on Saturday and received firm assurances that residents would experience some improvement in water supply starting Tuesday.
“Yesterday, I got firm assurances from the new MD for the Ghana Water Company Ltd that from coming Tuesday, we should see some improvement in water supply all the way to the end of the week,” he stated.
He also disclosed that the GWCL boss had promised to visit the constituency personally during the week to assess the situation firsthand.
While welcoming the commitment, the MP emphasised the need for a long-term solution to the recurring water shortages.
“I would continue to coordinate with his office as we seek a long-term fix to the challenge,” he assured.
In the meantime, he pledged to maintain support through water tanker deliveries to ease the burden on affected residents.
Mr George further expressed gratitude to the Greater Accra Regional Minister for his intervention in addressing the crisis.
