I won’t be a supreme leader – Mahama assures Ghanaians

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that his leadership will be inclusive and grounded in humility.
Speaking after his victory in the December 7 general election, Mr. Mahama emphasized his commitment to serving the people and fostering a collaborative approach to governance.
“I do not intend to be a supreme leader who lords over anyone. I will listen to the people in all my dealings as President,” Mr. Mahama stated during a courtesy visit by Algeria's Ambassador to Ghana, Mourad Louhaidia, who congratulated him on his election.
The President-elect also pledged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with its parliamentary majority, would not misuse its influence in Parliament.
Instead, he promised a governance style focused on consensus-building and constructive dialogue.
Mr. Mahama expressed confidence in his administration’s ability to implement strategies that would enhance economic performance, create opportunities for citizens, and strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic ties with other nations.
Ambassador Louhaidia commended Mr. Mahama for his victory, noting that it marked a significant step forward for Ghana’s democratic journey.
