John Mahama vows to resist attempts to compromise Dec. 7 elections
John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged that his party will firmly oppose any attempts to undermine the integrity of the upcoming December 7 elections, specifically through tactics like ballot paper stuffing.
Speaking at a rally in Sagnarigu in the Northern Region, Mahama recounted an incident where an NDC representative was nearly attacked while overseeing ballot paper printing the day before.
He condemned the intimidation attempts, asserting that such tactics would not deter the NDC from ensuring a fair and transparent election.
Mahama further alleged that one of the party’s election supervisors visited a ballot paper printing facility to monitor the process when an individual affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) attempted to assault him.
Reaffirming the NDC’s commitment to a credible electoral process, Mahama stated, "We will not allow any act of intimidation to prevent us from safeguarding the will of the people."
