Kwabena Agyepong frames January 31 primary as a fight for NPP’s core values
Kwabena Agyepong, a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has described the party’s upcoming January 31 flagbearer primary as a decisive contest for the “soul of NPP tradition.”
Speaking to delegates in Accra on Tuesday, January 20, Mr Agyepong said the primary is about more than individual ambitions, emphasising the need to uphold the party’s core values of unity, discipline, and service to the people.
“This primary is not just about who leads us next; it is about preserving the principles and traditions that have made the NPP what it is today,” Agyepong said.
“We must choose a candidate who can hold the party together and honour our shared vision.”
He also criticised lingering divisions from previous internal contests, warning that internal rivalries could weaken the NPP’s chances in the 2028 general elections.
“We cannot afford to let factionalism define us.
The unity of the party must guide every delegate’s vote,” he stressed.
Mr Agyepong called on party members to prioritise collective interest over personal preference, positioning himself as the candidate capable of bringing all factions together.
“I am the only candidate with the ability to unite the NPP and ensure that our party’s legacy continues,” he added.
