Mahama gives hints about his 2024 running mate
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has hinted at his potential running mate for the 2024 elections, although he mentioned that the official announcement will be made next year in line with the opposition party’s plan.
During his #BuildingGhana tour in the Bono East Region, Mahama urged party members to exercise patience and wait until 2024 for the formal announcement.
Nevertheless, he provided clues about the likely candidate, indicating that the individual had previously served as a Minister in his government and demonstrated effective performance.
Mahama emphasised that the prospective running mate is a person of humility, with a genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
He assured the audience that the party would adhere to its established rules and processes in the selection of a running mate.
Speaking in Twi, Mahama described the potential candidate as someone known for their humility, knowledge, dedication to serving everyone, and prior experience as a Minister in his government.
In the 2020 elections, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, a former Education Minister, served as his running mate.
