Mpohor-Fiase NDC urges party leaders to honour DCE appointment promise

The Mpohor-Fiase branch of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling on the party’s National Chairman and General Secretary to fulfill their pledge of rewarding hard work and dedication.
The Constituency is urging party leaders to appoint a District Chief Executive (DCE) from among the elected Constituency executives, as promised during the 2023 National Delegates Congress.
Members of the Mpohor-Fiase NDC are particularly advocating for the appointment of Daniel Mawuli Kwofie Agbesi as DCE.
They warn that failing to do so could jeopardize the party’s support within the constituency, especially among the settler communities of Ewes, Fantes, and Northerners, who collectively constitute about 70% of the voting population and have traditionally backed the NDC.
The Constituency leadership underscores the principle of "No Contribution, No Chop," insisting that appointing a DCE from outside the Constituency executives would betray the party’s commitments and erode trust among grassroots supporters.
Speaking on the Good Morning Taadi show with Emmanuel Akomene Acheampong, Alexander Ofori, the Constituency Communication officer, reiterated that party members eagerly anticipate the President’s decision to appoint Agbesi, who currently serves as the Constituency Secretary.
He cautioned that failing to honour this expectation could lead to disillusionment among party faithful, potentially affecting their support and active participation in future party activities.
This development follows the NDC’s victory in the Mpohor parliamentary seat during the 2024 elections, where Henry Godfred Bentil emerged as the elected Member of Parliament.
Ofori appealed to the President to consolidate the party’s gains in the Constituency by appointing Agbesi, emphasizing that he possesses deep knowledge of the Constituency’s challenges and diverse needs.
According to him, such a decision would reinforce the party’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and ensure continued loyalty among supporters.
