NPA engages 24-Hour Economy Authority on pilot rollout in downstream petroleum sector
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has held a strategic meeting with the 24-Hour Economy Authority to discuss the pilot implementation of the government’s 24-hour economy programme within Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
The meeting, held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, was chaired by the Chief Executive of the NPA, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, Esq.
The NPA delegation included Deputy Chief Executives Dr. Sheila Addo and Dr. Dramani Bukari, Human Resource Director Mrs. Sedinam Afua Charity Mammara, Corporate Affairs Director Mrs. Maria Edith Oquaye, Director of Consumer Services Mrs. Eunice Budu-Nyarko, Director of Economic Regulation and Planning Abass Tasunti, as well as other Heads of Department.
Key industry stakeholders were also present at the meeting, including representatives from the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), and the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST).
Officials from the Ghana Police Service and National Security attended to deliberate on security and operational considerations.
In his remarks, Mr. Tameklo underscored the Authority’s commitment to ensuring the smooth and effective rollout of the 24-hour economy initiative within the petroleum downstream sector.
He assured stakeholders that all necessary measures are being taken to guarantee a successful implementation.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts to operationalise the 24-hour economy policy, which aims to boost productivity, enhance service delivery, and create employment opportunities across key sectors of the economy.
