The Alliance for NPP Youth has thrown its weight behind the party's decision to suspend proxy voting in the upcoming internal presidential primary, citing the need for transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

In a press release issued on November 20, 2025, the group expressed its appreciation for the NPP Elections Committee's bold move, stating that it demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the party's electoral process.

The Alliance believes that suspending proxy voting will provide a level playing field for all candidates, ensuring that the process reflects the true will of party members.

They also emphasised the importance of engaging all presidential hopefuls and listening to their concerns regarding the electoral process.

The group's convener, Bismark Kofi Boateng, urged party leadership and stakeholders to continue prioritising fairness and transparency, fostering an environment where every candidate feels heard and respected.

This development comes amid controversy, with some NPP executives abroad petitioning against the suspension, arguing it's unconstitutional and disenfranchises external delegates.
