Okai Mintah meets UG TEIN executives, reaffirms commitment to strengthening student political engagement
The Board Chairman of the National Service Authority (NSA), Mr Okai Mintah, has received a delegation from the University of Ghana Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) Executives at his office, as part of efforts to strengthen student political engagement and leadership development within tertiary institutions.
The delegation was led by the President of the University of Ghana TEIN, and discussions focused on strategies to enhance the vibrancy and effectiveness of TEIN activities at the country’s premier university and across other tertiary institutions nationwide.
During the engagement, Mr. Mintah highlighted the critical role student mobilisation played in the outcome of the 2024 general elections, noting that the active involvement of TEIN members significantly contributed to the victory of President John Dramani Mahama.
He stressed that the experience underscored the importance of building strong, well-organised and issue-driven TEIN chapters across the country.
In his capacity as Chairman of the National Youth Working Committee, Mr. Mintah reaffirmed his commitment to promoting student engagement, leadership training and issue-based advocacy within Ghana’s tertiary institutions.
He emphasised the need for structured and inclusive frameworks that encourage dialogue, civic responsibility and constructive participation in national development.
Mr. Mintah assured the delegation of his readiness to work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen TEIN structures nationwide, with the aim of nurturing informed, responsible and proactive young leaders who can contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s democratic and developmental processes.
