Pro-Mahama group demands retraction of allegations against NDC General Secretary’s wife
The National Soldiers for John Mahama have called on media outlets, including Asaase Radio, Oman FM, and Wontumi FM, to retract their allegations against Mrs. Naomi Kwetey, wife of the NDC General Secretary, and issue a public apology.
In a statement signed by the group’s president, Joshua Sika-Nartey, they described claims that Mrs. Kwetey is being considered for a top position at the Bank of Ghana due to her relationship with her husband as false and defamatory.
They emphasized that Mrs. Kwetey’s credentials speak for themselves, citing her over two decades of experience in the financial sector, including key roles at Trust Bank and Ecobank.
The group also dismissed claims of nepotism, clarifying that Mrs. Kwetey has no familial ties to former President John Mahama.
Criticizing what they termed the "propaganda machinery" of the NPP, the group accused the Akufo-Addo administration of hypocrisy, citing instances where family members and close associates were appointed to top government positions.
The National Soldiers for John Mahama are demanding that the media houses involved retract their statements immediately and issue a formal apology.
They warned that failure to do so would force them to take "direct action" to protect Mrs. Kwetey’s reputation and the truth.
The group further urged the public to reject politically motivated falsehoods and assess Mrs. Kwetey based on her professional qualifications and track record, rather than unsubstantiated claims.
