Six aspirants file to contest Ayawaso East by-election as nominations close
A total of six aspirants have picked nomination forms to contest the upcoming Ayawaso East by-election in the Greater Accra Region, scheduled for February 7, 2026, following the close of nominations on Friday, January 24, 2026.
The aspirants who have officially picked forms are:
Mohammed Ramne
Mohammed Abdul Salam
Yakubu Azindow
Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed
Najib Mohammed Sani
Amina Adam
Party officials confirmed that the aspirants are expected to return their completed nomination forms on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the party’s regional office.
The party extended best wishes to all aspirants as the internal selection process progresses.
The Ayawaso East by-election is expected to attract significant political interest as parties intensify preparations ahead of the February poll.
