Suhum MP demands footbridge on Accra -Kumasi highway to protect Suhum pedestrians
The Member of Parliament for Suhum, Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, has urged the Minister for Roads and Highways to urgently construct a footbridge on the Accra–Kumasi Highway Suhum stretch of the road to address the rising incidents of pedestrians being knocked down.
Raising the matter on the floor of Parliament, the Suhum MP filed an urgent question seeking clarification on the measures the Ministry is putting in place to curb the recurring accidents along that stretch.
He stressed that the absence of a footbridge continues to endanger the lives of residents who cross the busy highway daily.
Mr Asiedu Bekoe warned that delays in providing the needed infrastructure would lead to more preventable deaths, adding that the safety of his constituents must be treated as a priority.
