Ukraine opens resident mission in Accra
Ukraine as part of its objective to enhance diplomatic relations with the Republic of Ghana officially opened its Embassy in Accra on Friday, 12th April 2024.
During the ceremony, the special envoy of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Region, Maksym Subkh expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Ghana for the continuous support towards the official opening of the diplomatic mission in Accra.
He further stated that, the opening of the Embassy in Ghana reflects the willingness to develop bilateral relations between Ghana and Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong (MP) in his response recalled the longstanding relations between the two countries dating back to 1992 shortly after Ukraine gained independence.
He further expressed the Ministry’s commitment and readiness to assist the Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Ukraine in the discharge of his duties to enhance relations between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Diplomatic Corps, Ukrainians living in Ghana and other invited guests.
As a precursor to the opening, Maksym Subkh paid a courtesy call on Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong (MP) at his office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration where they discussed possible areas of cooperation between Ghana and Ukraine.
