Vice President congratulates newly appointed Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie
Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has congratulated Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie on his appointment as Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, describing his elevation as a well-earned recognition of decades of discipline and steadfast dedication to the rule of law.
In a statement, the Vice President said Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s long service to the judiciary reflects a deep commitment to fairness, independence and justice, values she believes he will continue to uphold “without fear or favour.”
She emphasised that the strength of Ghana’s democracy depends heavily on an impartial and trustworthy judiciary, expressing confidence that the new Chief Justice’s leadership will further strengthen public confidence in the nation’s legal institutions.
“Ghana looks forward to a legacy of enduring justice,” the Vice President said, adding that Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s experience positions him to guide the judiciary with integrity and excellence.
