Fidelity Bank donates ₵1m to support Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup campaign

Fidelity Bank Ghana has donated GH₵1 million to support the Black Stars’ preparations and participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The donation was presented in Accra by the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Julian Opuni, to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams.

Mr Opuni said the bank’s support reflects its commitment to national development and its belief in backing initiatives that unite Ghanaians.

He noted that the Black Stars’ participation in the World Cup presents an opportunity to inspire young people and promote values such as discipline and excellence.

“We believe that when something matters to Ghana, it matters to us as well,” he said.

He added that the bank is proud to support the team as it represents the country on the global stage.

Receiving the donation, Kofi Iddie Adams thanked Fidelity Bank for its support and said private sector involvement is important for sports development.

He said contributions like this help strengthen preparations for the tournament and improve team readiness.

The Black Stars are preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they are expected to compete in the group stage.
