GFA provides GHS300,000 for Regional FAs to support referee payments for 2025/2026 season
An amount of GH₵300,000 has been released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to Regional Football Associations (RFAs) to support the payment of officiating fees for the 2025/26 football season.
RFAs, together with their District Football Associations (DFAs), have Division Two, Division Three, Regional Women’s Division One, and Colts U13, U15, and U17 leagues as their purview.
The allocation will cover refereeing costs which have been a long-standing burden for clubs in the said divisions.
To ensure fairness and equity in distribution, the number of clubs in each region, the total number of matches scheduled, and the overall cost of refereeing in each jurisdiction, among other things, were keenly considered.

The Greater Accra RFA received the biggest share of GH₵50,000, given the large number of clubs and high match volume therein. All other regions received GH₵30,000 each, except the Upper East and Upper West RFAs which received GH₵20,000 apiece.
