High Court adjourns GFA injunction case to September 19

GFA elections

The Accra High Court has deferred the hearing of the injunction application concerning the 2023 Ghana Football Association elections.

This decision was communicated during a virtual meeting attended by the concerned parties.

The rescheduled date for the hearing is now set for September 19.

Until that time, the ongoing election processes remain suspended indefinitely.

Two weeks ago, King Faisal initiated legal action, contending that a legitimate Congress cannot proceed to elect the GFA President until new members or representatives of the Executive Committee have been duly elected, in accordance with the football governing body's statutes.

As a result, they petitioned the court to halt the GFA from conducting the presidential election on September 27 until the required elections for representatives from the National League Clubs, Regional Football Association, and other constituent bodies have been conducted in accordance with the appropriate procedures
