Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has drafted in Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer to replace Inaki Williams who has been ruled out of the upcoming AFCON qualifying match against Madagascar.
The Athletic Bilbao forward who was named on Ghana’s squad for the qualifier has been ruled out with an injury to his right knee.
“Since a few weeks I'm playing with pain in my right knee. I've decided to play until the end of the season, but talking with the medical services, we've decide to stop and solve the problem to stay 100% at the preseason.
"This decision wasn't easy to take because I won't be able to stay with my national team, Ghana the next meeting.
“I want to say that I am fully committed and I will come back with the Blackstars if the coach deems it appropriate in his next calls.
Thank you four your support.” Inaki stated in a statement on Monday.
Königsdörffer will join the squad in Accra when they commence camping on June 12 ahead of the qualifier.
The Black Stars will travel to Madagascar for the match which has been scheduled for June 18, 2023.
