'World Cup Bonanza': GFA, NLA and Rambell launch initiative to fly football fans to 2026 FIFA WC
The Ghana Football Association (GFA), in partnership with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and lottery company Rambell, has announced a grand opportunity for 220 Ghanaian supporters to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The initiative will have football fans compete in a raffle campaign dubbed World Cup Bonanza, providing winners with comprehensive visa application support, subsidised flights, free accommodation, and match tickets for Ghana’s three group games at the global showpiece.
The 2026 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada, United States of America, and Mexico.
Supervised by the NLA, the World Cup Bonanza, themed: 'Play More, Win More, and Experience Football’s Biggest Stage' was launched on Wednesday, November 4, 2025, at the GFA headquarters in Accra.
In attendance were GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the Director-General of the NLA, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, and Rockson Konde, representing the Board Chairman of Rambell.
President Kurt Okraku underscored how fitting the World Cup Bonanza was in recognising the importance of supporters in the Black Stars campaign at the upcoming tournament.
“Having ensured that Ghana will be at the Mundial, it’s important for us at the FA not to think about ourselves but to think about the country, especially the 12th man,” he said.
“We didn’t qualify alone, and we cannot go to the World Cup alone. The supporters must come with us. With the full support of the NLA and our partners at Rambell, we now have an amazing opportunity to bring our fans along on this incredible journey.”
Popular comics Dr. Likee, and Kyekyeku, and star choreographer DanceGod Lloyd were unveiled as spearheads for the campaign.
The event saw appearances and support from Ghanaian influencers like Afronita, Fella Makafui, Kal Jay, Wofa Kay, GH Hyper, Kobby Kyei, Ameyaw Debrah, Nana Kay and SDK.
