Asiedu-Nketia chairs GHPA board

The Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Nikpe Bukari, has officially sworn in a nine-member Board of Directors for the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) at a ceremony held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The newly constituted Board is chaired by Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Other members include Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, Director General of GPHA; Mr. Zumah Tebon, Director of Port – Tema; and Capt. Richmond Quayeson, Director of Port – Takoradi.
Additional members of the Board are Professor Ransford Edward Gyampo, Acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority; Mr. Stephane Abbas Meizan, President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Hon. Dan Abdul-Latif, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central; Mr. Adam Imoru Ayarna, Vice President of the Shipowners and Agents Association of Ghana; Mr. Ebenezer Eric Perry, 1st Union Trustee; and Mrs. Mabel Sagoe, Chief Director at the Ministry of Transport.
In his remarks, Bukari urged the Board to pursue strategic reforms that will elevate Ghana’s ports into a leading trade and logistics hub within the West African sub-region.
He emphasised the need for innovation, efficiency, and a renewed focus on investor confidence in the maritime industry.
Responding on behalf of the Board, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in them and pledged a collective commitment to improving port operations and enhancing the authority’s contribution to national development
