Ghana Gold Board signs refining agreement with Gold Coast Refinery
The Ghana Gold Board will sign a gold refining agreement with Gold Coast Refinery on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen its gold value chain.
The partnership is expected to enhance local refining capacity, boost the domestic gold industry, and contribute to Ghana’s broader industrialisation agenda.
The signing ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room on the 5th Floor of the GoldBod Head Office in Accra.
Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament and Minister for Finance, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour for the occasion.
Officials say the agreement underscores Ghana’s commitment to adding value to its gold resources locally, reducing reliance on external refining, and creating opportunities for economic growth and employment in the mining sector.
