Padiki exhibits, auctions paintings after week-long GWR paint-a-thon
Showcasing her artistic abilities through an array of exquisite paintings, Sharon Dede Padi, alias Padiki, has completed her Guinness World Records (GWR) attempt for the longest painting marathon title.
Dede Padiki began her quest on Thursday, March 15, ending on Friday, March 22, 2024, going a day beyond her initial aim.
In her attempt to break the paint-a-thon record, she projected Ghana to the world, displaying the country’s culture, with support from the Ghana Tourism Authority and her partners, sponsors and the media.
After making a case for her talent and staying awake for about eight days, Padiki will now submit evidence of her attempt to the GWR for assessment and verdict.
Between October 26 and 30, 2024, Nigerian Chancellor Ahaghotu painted for 100 hours in a painting marathon, and is the incumbent holder of the GWR title.
Meanwhile, today, Saturday, March 23, 2024, an exhibition and sale of 145 stunning paintings executed for Sharon Dede Padi’s painting marathon will take place, with the painter maintaining the venue: The Accra Tourist Information Centre, Cantonments.
Padiki's works hang in prestigious hotels such as Rock City Hotel, Nkwatia, and La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra, among others.
