Afua Asantewaa opens up about emotional strain as veteran journalist husband stayed silent during backlash
Media personality Afua Asantewaa has opened up about a difficult chapter in her personal life, revealing that she often felt unsupported by her spouse during a period of intense public criticism.
Speaking in a recent video, she shared that while she faced heavy backlash online during a major public challenge, her partner—who has over 30 years of experience in journalism—remained largely silent.
According to her, this lack of public support was painful, especially at a time when she felt most vulnerable.
She explained that although her husband had no trouble appearing publicly to celebrate her efforts, he did not step forward to defend her when negative comments began circulating.
For her, that contrast raised concerns about the kind of support she truly had behind the scenes.
Afua also disclosed that their relationship has since taken a different turn, confirming that they are no longer together.
Despite this, she maintains that she still values honesty and believes in speaking openly about her experiences.
