Adentan Kumi’s wife allegedly suffers miscarriage after his arrest by NIB

The arrest of Alfred Ababio Kumi, a communications team member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), popularly known as Adentan Kumi, has reportedly led to his wife suffering a miscarriage just hours after the incident.
His wife allegedly suffered a miscarriage shortly after National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) operatives stormed their residence at dawn last Friday.
According to sources cited by Metrotvonline, the shock and trauma of the unexpected arrest severely impacted Mrs. Kumi, who was several weeks pregnant.
The source claimed she is currently receiving medical care at a local health facility, while family members describe her condition as emotionally fragile.
Mr. Kumi’s arrest comes on the heels of a high-profile petition he submitted to President John Dramani Mahama, calling for the dissolution of a judicial committee probing the removal of the Chief Justice.
The committee, chaired by Justices Pwamang, Adibu-Asiedu, and Yonni Kulendi, was accused by Kumi of fraternising with Thaddeus Sory, counsel for the main petitioner, at an upscale Accra restaurant—allegations he claims raise serious concerns about the integrity of the inquiry.
Eight NIB operatives were involved in the early morning arrest, which took place under tight security and without prior notice. While official reasons for the arrest remain undisclosed, the incident has sparked widespread political and public reaction, especially in light of the tragic consequences suffered by Kumi’s family.
