Chief of Staff to receive Trans Africa Tourism & Unity Campaign team in Accra
The Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, is expected to receive members of the Trans Africa Tourism & Unity Campaign at the Independence Square in Accra on Thursday, January 22, 2026, as the team concludes a historic pan-African road journey.
The campaign team is scheduled to arrive in Accra at 9:00 a.m., ahead of a meeting with the Chief of Staff at 9:45 a.m.
A press briefing will follow at exactly 10:00 a.m., where the team will share insights from their continental tour and outline their vision for deeper African integration.
Led by former Member of Parliament Ras Mubarak, the Trans Africa Tourism & Unity Campaign has travelled through 31 African countries in just under 160 days, covering the journey by road in two vehicles.
The team departed Ghana in August 2025 with the aim of promoting intra-African tourism, cultural exchange and stronger ties among African nations.
Speaking on the mission, Ras Mubarak said the journey has reinforced the urgent need for unity across the continent.
“Our message rings clearer than ever: Africa must unite now.
True unity begins with dismantling barriers to allow the seamless flow of people and goods,” he noted.
The campaign is calling for a visa-free Africa for Africans by 2030, a goal it says will accelerate the African Union’s vision of an integrated and prosperous continent.
Organisers believe removing travel restrictions will boost tourism, trade and people-to-people connections, while strengthening Africa’s collective identity on the global stage.
The Accra event is expected to draw government officials, diplomats, civil society groups and members of the media, as the campaign formally presents its findings and recommendations to the government.
