DRIP Secretariat appeals to MMDCEs to support district coordinators’ orientation

The Secretariat of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) has appealed to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to provide financial and logistical support for their District DRIP Coordinators ahead of a nationwide orientation exercise.
In a circular signed by the National Coordinator, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, the Secretariat noted that budgetary and logistical constraints have made it impossible to fully fund the training sessions.
As a result, MMDCEs have been asked to contribute GH¢4,500 per coordinator to cover accommodation and feeding for the three-day orientation package.
Additionally, they are expected to facilitate transportation arrangements for their representatives to and from the training venues.
According to the schedule, the orientation sessions will be held in six zones across the country, beginning with the Greater Accra, Volta, and Oti regions in Ada from July 28–30, 2025, and ending with the Central, Western, and Western North regions in Takoradi from September 2–4, 2025.
Participants are required to register with proof of payment before taking part in the sessions, which will focus on enhancing district-level capacity for District Road Improvement and management.
Mr. Vanderpuye emphasised that the support of MMDCEs is critical to ensuring the success of the programme and urged full participation to strengthen road management preparedness at the local level.
