Free Zones Authority engages Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the UK and Ireland

On 21st August 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, hosted Ghana’s High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom and Ireland, H.E. Zita Sabah Benson, at the Authority’s head office in Accra.
Dr. Awusi congratulated H.E. Benson on her historic appointment as the first woman to assume the role, describing it as a milestone achievement.
She expressed confidence that the High Commissioner’s leadership would help deepen Ghana–UK relations, particularly in advancing trade and investment opportunities.
As part of the visit, GFZA’s Director of Marketing and Investment Promotion, Madam Anita Quashie, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Free Zones Scheme.
She outlined the Authority’s core functions and highlighted potential areas of collaboration with the High Commission, including:
Sharing information on international trade fairs and exhibitions,
Providing updates on global trade policies,
Supporting Ghanaian enterprises to meet international standards, and
Developing targeted marketing strategies to attract UK-based investors.
In her response, H.E. Benson commended the Authority for its efforts and encouraged sustained collaboration with her office, especially in facilitating investment promotion missions abroad.
