GAF evacuates three Ghanaian traders injured in Burkina Faso terror attack
Three Ghanaian traders who sustained injuries during a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso on Saturday, February 14, 2026, have been successfully evacuated to Ghana by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The traders were caught up in the attack while conducting business in the neighbouring West African country.
Details of the incident remain limited, but reports indicate that the assault left several people injured, including the three Ghanaians.
Following confirmation of their condition, the Ghana Armed Forces coordinated efforts to transport the injured traders back home for urgent medical care.
The evacuation operation underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of Ghanaian citizens abroad, particularly in areas facing security threats.
The injured traders are currently receiving medical attention, while authorities continue to monitor the security situation in Burkina Faso.
Officials have urged Ghanaians travelling to or residing in high-risk areas within the sub-region to remain vigilant and adhere to security advisories.
