IGP orders release of Kwahu Queen-Mother, launches investigation into police operation
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohonu, has ordered the release of the Queen-Mother of Kwahu following a police operation that took place earlier this morning.
In a statement, the IGP directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau to investigate the circumstances surrounding the operation and ensure that any officers found culpable are appropriately sanctioned.
Meanwhile, security has been heightened in and around Kwahu to safeguard residents and maintain public order.
The directive comes amid growing public concern over the incident, as authorities seek to restore calm and confidence in law enforcement practices in the area.
