Interior Minister reassures security personnel of gov't commitment to welfare and logistics support
The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured security personnel under the Ministry of government’s continued commitment to improving their welfare, logistics, and operational efficiency.
Speaking at the Ho Technical University Auditorium during his working visit to the Volta Region, the Minister emphasized the critical role of security agencies in maintaining national peace, stability, and public safety.
He commended officers for their dedication and sacrifices, noting that their work remains essential to Ghana’s development and social cohesion.
“The sacrifices and dedication of our security officers in maintaining peace and stability across the country cannot be overstated.
Their welfare remains a top priority because a motivated and well-resourced security service is essential to national development,” he stated.
The Minister outlined several interventions being pursued by government to improve conditions of service for security personnel.
These include the mechanization of rent allowances, improvements in office and residential accommodation, the provision of logistics and operational vehicles, as well as promotions and other welfare-related measures.
He assured personnel that concerns raised during the engagement would be given due attention and considered in ongoing policy and administrative reforms.
In a separate meeting with non-security agencies under the Ministry of the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak commended staff for their contributions to public service delivery and reaffirmed government’s commitment to addressing operational challenges within their institutions.
He noted that strengthening these agencies would enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall service delivery to the public.
As part of his concluding remarks on his Volta Regional tour, the Minister expressed appreciation to the Volta Regional Minister, regional security commanders, and all officers for their cooperation and hospitality throughout his visit.
He added that such stakeholder engagements form part of a broader strategy aimed at deepening collaboration, strengthening social cohesion, addressing emerging security concerns, and promoting inclusive national development.
According to him, the engagements reflect government’s ongoing efforts to build stronger partnerships with key institutions to ensure sustainable peace and security across the country.
