Mahama to hold Presidential Dialogue with Organised Labour on salary reforms and pensions
President John Dramani Mahama has invited Organised Labour to a high-level Presidential Dialogue aimed at addressing critical national issues affecting public sector workers and the broader labour market.
The engagement, scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Jubilee House, is expected to provide a structured and solution-oriented platform for frank discussions between government and labour representatives.
According to a formal invitation issued on behalf of the President by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, the dialogue will focus particularly on public sector salary reforms, pension sustainability and related labour market concerns.
The Presidency described the meeting as part of the government’s broader economic stabilisation and reform agenda, to build consensus around reforms that are fair, transparent and financially sustainable, while safeguarding worker welfare and social justice.
The statement noted that the engagement reflects Ghana’s longstanding tradition of social partnership and constructive dialogue between government and Organised Labour.
Labour unions and relevant stakeholders have been requested to confirm their participation and nominate representatives for the discussions.
The President is expected to use the forum to strengthen collaboration with labour groups as the government advances its reform programme
