A delegation from Namibia’s Standing Committee on Natural Resources has paid a working visit to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) as part of a study mission to strengthen petroleum sector governance in their country.

The team, hosted on Thursday, December 11, 2025, by the Chief Executive of the NPA, Mr. Godwin Tameklo, toured key facilities, including the National Fuel Monitoring Command Centre.

The visit offered the Namibian lawmakers firsthand insight into Ghana’s fuel tracking systems and regulatory practices.

During the engagement, officials discussed petroleum governance frameworks, including the structures, digital systems and regulatory tools employed by the Authority to ensure efficiency, transparency and operational integrity within Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.

Mr. Tameklo emphasised Ghana’s commitment to supporting peer African nations in strengthening their energy governance systems, noting that collaboration and knowledge-sharing remain essential to advancing the continent’s petroleum sector.

The Namibian delegation expressed appreciation to the NPA for the warm reception and for the opportunity to learn from Ghana’s experiences with fuel monitoring, compliance enforcement and institutional reforms.
