ORAL Probe: BNI arrests four in PDS-ECG scandal
The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has confirmed that four individuals linked to the defunct Power Distribution Services have been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations as part of an ongoing probe into suspected financial transfers involving the Electricity Company of Ghana.
In a Facebook post on Monday, May 4, 2026, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said the arrests form part of the government’s anti-corruption drive, known as “Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL),” aimed at tracking and retrieving allegedly misappropriated state funds.
He explained that investigators are examining the movement of substantial sums of money believed to be connected to ECG operations.
The individuals arrested have been identified as Philip Ayensu, Viraj Phat, Sophia Korkor, and Justice Menka-Premoh.
According to the minister, all four have since been granted bail while investigations continue.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the total amount under investigation, and it remains unclear whether further arrests will follow as the case progresses.
