Pastors urged to study Constitution — Supreme Court Judge
Supreme Court Justice H.L. Akaa Boafo has stressed the importance of pastors studying and applying the 1992 Constitution in their work to avoid conflicts with the laws governing the country.
He explained that a deeper understanding of the Constitution would help church leaders align their ministry with national laws and ensure lawful conduct in their daily activities.
Justice Akaa Boafo, who is also a Deacon of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, made the call at the maiden Empowered Ministers Conference of the church held in Kumasi.
The event, hosted at the Light House Assembly of God, brought together about 1,200 pastors, spouses and church leaders from the Ashanti North, East and West Regions.
It featured presentations on key areas such as the church and the law, conflict resolution, branding for church growth, travailing prayer, financial management, ministry leadership, marriage and loyalty in organisational development.
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, also addressed the gathering and urged pastors to demonstrate professionalism, adopt best practices and pursue excellence in all aspects of ministry.
He further encouraged church leaders to invest in the welfare and socio-economic development of their members.
Supporting speakers included Rev. Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent; Rev. Ernest Birikorang, General Secretary; and Rev. Simon Abu Baba, General Treasurer.
