Sam George supports 127 constituents with business tools and funding
The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Samuel Nartey George, has reinforced his commitment to youth empowerment and economic development in his constituency with another round of support under his annual business initiative.
Since 2018, the MP—who also serves as the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations—has consistently provided start-up tools, equipment, and financial assistance to help residents establish and expand their own businesses.
On Monday, December 8, 2025, he extended support to 127 beneficiaries across different sectors, with a total package valued at nearly GHS1.3 million.
This year’s items included 34 chest freezers, 18 motorbikes, 9 industrial sewing machines, 2 knitting machines, and 2 hair dryers, accompanied by cash support tailored to specific business needs.
Speaking to the media after the presentation ceremony, the MP emphasised that the initiative focuses on long-term self-reliance rather than handouts.
“It’s better to teach people how to fish than to always give them fish.
By setting them up in business or giving them what they need to grow, they become self-sustaining.
We’ve supported over 250 people over the years, and this year we are supporting 127 beneficiaries across multiple business interests.
This is my way of giving back to my people,” he said.
