Serwaa Amihere school bloggers on court reporting
Broadcast journalist and media personality Serwaa Amihere has explained her decision to object to being recorded while going to court, stressing that her stance was rooted in professionalism and respect for the legal process.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Serwaa Amihere clarified that her reaction was not driven by hostility toward bloggers or content creators, contrary to public speculation.
According to her, court proceedings are serious legal matters that should not be turned into content for public entertainment.
“I have no problem with bloggers, but the court isn’t a media playground,” she stated, emphasising that legal spaces must be treated with decorum.
Serwaa Amihere, who has a background in law in addition to her media career, noted that being recorded without consent while attending court undermines the dignity of the judicial process and the professionalism expected of those involved.
She further explained that while freedom of expression and media coverage are important, there must be boundaries, especially in sensitive environments such as courts of law.
Her comments come amid growing debates about the conduct of content creators and bloggers around court premises, particularly involving public figures.
Serwaa Amihere called for mutual respect between journalists, bloggers, and the legal system, urging media practitioners to balance public interest with ethical responsibility.
