E/R: Hunter shoots lover at Akyem Nyafoman

A 55-year-old hunter, Yaw Avorda, is currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision after allegedly shooting and killing his 51-year-old lover, Yaa Comfort, at Akyem Nyafoman in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred while Yaa Comfort was bathing.
According to eyewitness accounts, Yaw Avorda allegedly shot her with a gun, leading to her untimely death.
Victoria Teye, the mother of the deceased, spoke to Afia Agyeimaa Budu, CTV's reporter and recounted the series of events leading up to the incident.
She called for justice for her daughter, appealing to authorities to ensure that the perpetrator faces the full rigours of the law.
Community members disclosed that the couple had been experiencing marital issues, which led to their separation about three weeks before the shooting.
They expressed concern over the situation and urged the police to act swiftly to prevent the youth from taking the law into their own hands.
The body of Yaa Comfort has been deposited at the Abirem Government Mortuary, while Yaw Avorda remains at the same hospital, receiving treatment under strict police watch.
